Balancing the Storm Within: Soil Cultivating

Holistically Honey is a space for encouragement, self-care, and natural wellness as we learn to move through life with intention and grace

Peace and Blessings,

Renewal from rest is one of the most powerful resets. After taking a break to restore your mind, things begin to flow with greater ease. There is more clarity. More understanding. More intention.

Learning how to rest while remaining consistent is an art.

Sometimes, resting in the storm becomes so comfortable that returning to work feels challenging. You may look at your garden, your intentions, plans, and prayers and see growth happening. It feels good. So good that you might say, “I can rest a little longer.”

But renewal is not where we stay, it is where we gather strength.

If you remain in rest too long, that same energy meant for growth begins to scatter. Consistency fades. Progress slows. What once was growing can become stagnant.

So as you return to tending your garden; even in the storm I invite you to not only review your growth, but also make intentional adjustments.

Soil Cultivating

Purposefully disturbing the soil is important to maintaining the balance of your garden. During pauses in the storm, or even during seasons of calmness, you must examine the soil itself.

Does your seed or plant truly have room to grow?
Can it receive water freely, or has the soil become too compacted?

After resting, everything may seem still, maybe even peaceful. But this is the time to check the soil.

  • Revisit your thoughts, habits, and environment
  • Make space for the newness of your growth
  • Choose what stays and what must go

This is not the chaos of a storm. This is intentional adjustment.

Seeds Are Chosen Carefully

There will always be multiple things growing at once.

Some seeds were planted with intention.
Others may have settled in unnoticed.

After rest, it’s time to evaluate:

  • What is still a hope?
  • What is actually growing?

Now you decide where your energy goes.

This may look like:

  • Creating new routines
  • Setting stronger boundaries
  • Being mindful of the words you speak over yourself
  • Becoming aware of what you consume such as food, media, and energy

You are no longer just absorbing.
You are selecting.

Consistency Becomes your Water

As you return to your routine and begin making necessary adjustments, you must prepare to water your garden. Consistency reveals itself through growth.

If you pour excessively without intention, everything can drown. If you become distracted and only tend to your growth once it is suffering, the vision can weaken before it fully blooms.

Watering is never a one-time act.

  • Show up daily in small, intentional ways
  • Protect your peace and energy
  • Nourish what you truly want to grow

Discipline does not have to feel harsh.
It can be devotional.

Becoming the What You Plant

Seasons are a natural process of the Earth, each one serving a purpose in growth and renewal.

And just like the Earth, we are constantly evolving.

The storms we experience are not separate from us, they are a part of how we clear, cleanse, and grow.

What we allow to remain…
What we choose to release…
What we consistently nurture…

All of it shapes who we become.

With intention and consistency:

  • Your thoughts become lighter
  • Your reactions become softer
  • Your energy becomes more grounded

You don’t just plant peace
You become it.

“After the storm and the stillness, we plant not out of survival, but out of intention. What we choose now becomes what we live later.”

Gratitude,

Honey
